Ooohhh, flowers!

When it comes to weddings, what could be more bright and cheerful than the perfect assortment of flowers? Each wedding is unique and calls for a special combination; some are classic choices, some are a perfect blend of the color scheme and theme, and others are chosen because they are a lifelong favorite. Regardless, the flowers should be special. Most importantly, they should reflect you!

Did you know that in ancient times, the bouquet had it beginnings not as a collection of flowers, but garlic, herbs, and spices? The strong smells were believed to have mystical powers and could ward off evil spirits. (Aren’t you glad you don’t live in ancient times?) It wasn’t until Queen Victoria married Prince Albert that a new tradition of carrying flowers down the aisle was born.

Typically you will find vases overflowing with fresh blooms everywhere at a wedding, but none are as important or crucial as the bride’s bouquet. Check out these fun bouquets, each as unique as the bride that carried them (and each filled with magic for the girl who caught them!)

By far, the most popular wedding flower is the rose. For centuries, it has been a symbol of love and beauty. Depending on what you dream of for your big day, you can stick with an oh-so-romantic bouquet made up mostly of these delicate beauties, or you can mix and match them with other flower favorites. If you want to break outside the box, there are limitless possibilities for bridal bouquets that you can create with any flower you want! The sky is the limit for your special day.

I can practically smell these just looking at them! Aren’t they gorgeous?

Check us out on Style Me Pretty

We are so excited! One of our latest weddings was a real blast and our paper designs were featured on Style Me Pretty’s Blog! So of course we had to share.

Go ahead and check it out here:
(You know you want to!)

This special day took place in Diamond Bar in a private backyard estate with a breathtaking view of the hills. It was the perfect day for a wedding with the sun shining overhead and everyone dressed to the nines. The scene was set with splashes of bright pink peonies bursting open in a sea of pure white décor. They really chose the perfect spot!

Bekah and Daniel met through their work and couldn’t help falling in love. They make such a beautiful pair. Troy Grover Photographers did a wonderful job of capturing it all. Be sure to check out their gallery to see what we mean!
We wanted to design something that would capture their own personal style and stylishly accent each table. In the end we came up with several simple and elegant designs to complement their dazzling white and vibrant fuchsia color scheme.

We really bonded with this particular couple, through their invitation designing and wedding paper accessories for their big day. So much so that the bride actually baked us cookies and mailed them to our studio with a super sweet thank you card (that of course we created for them!)! We’re really excited that their beautiful wedding graced Style Me Pretty’s page and that we were a part of their amazing day.

All the pretty colors!

One of our favorite things about doing any kind of design for a wedding is having fun with all the wonderful color schemes that are out there and finding a way to blend them with the bride and groom’s individual personality and style. Some of them are bright and bold, and others are simple and elegant. There are so many fun choices!

Here are a few color schemes to get your creativity flowing!

#1 - Maroon, rose, and light pink make for a sweet combo.

They’re perfect for the whimsical bride living out her fantasy wedding. I see teacups, roses, and red velvet cupcakes with light pink frosting!

#2 - Dark grey, tan, and light blue work together in harmony.

Here’s a clean, modern combination that’s just right for the contemporary couple. These colors would be perfect for a beach wedding, too.

#3 -This gorgeous green medley is just right for the eco-friendly or nature-loving twosome.

Imagine a wedding with this color scheme set in a lush garden full of bright, blooming flowers. That would be just breathtaking!

#4 - Crimson and sky blue pair beautifully with cherry-blossom pink to create a lovely summer feel.

We had a lot of fun putting this one to paper!

#5 - Purple burgundy tones and light blue are the perfect teammates for wedding colors.

They would work well in any season and could go with a multitude of themes. I’m seeing daisies, light blue bridesmaid dresses, and bubbles floating in the air.

There are so many fun things you can do with colors! Not only that, a color scheme can be the perfect place to start for wedding inspiration if you’re not quite sure about the direction you want to go in yet.

Then add just the right amount of shimmer and, poof! Magic. Which is what every wedding should be.
