Rustic & Romantic

I am absolutely drooling over this wedding that was recently featured on Style Me Pretty! Every once in a while a big day comes along that is so beautiful and so simple with just the right pinch of something extra special. Everything about this wedding is incredibly elegant and classy, down to the tiniest little details.

With a color scheme of primarily white and cream, hints of other colors like champagne, rose, and gold add just the right amount of sweetness to leave you with that I’m-waking-on-air feeling that every bride and groom should have on their special day. It’s all of the little accents that make it all come together.

Is the Clifton Inn not the perfect place to tie the knot!? I love the green grass and the giant trees framing the intimate summery garden scene. The table setting is also to die for!! The botanical creations that dot the entire affair by Pats Floral Design give plenty to ooh and ahh over. And the cake is so pretty decorated with pink blooms and branches. Everything has just the right touch; it’s clear that a lot of care went into making things magical.

As if this wedding couldn’t get any better, the story of the bride and groom makes it even more special. Childhood sweethearts that grew up on the same street, the bride’s first kiss and only love – like something out of a movie! I am such a hopeless romantic, and there’s nothing like the story behind what brought two people together to melt my heart.

It’s a nice day for a white wedding…

There are so many beautiful winter weddings to gawk at this season! I know I already posted about this a couple of weeks ago, but there is just so much snowy eye candy that I couldn’t help myself, I had to share some more. And really, it’s the right time of year for it! So here are a few more white weddings to melt your heart.

These next pictures are from a Lake Tahoe wedding that just takes my breath away. As if that backdrop were not spectacular enough, I just love the color scheme of burgundy, black, white, and red - and that gorgeous dress! The bouquets are each full of scabiosa pods, succulents, and red peonies – so perfect!!

These next few photos are from a wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Colorado. It’s such a picturesque setting and that vintage sole that the bride is wearing is to die for. If this wedding wasn’t wintry enough already, later on they gathered graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows and made s’mores! Yum!!

But the photos from this last wedding at the Bear Creek Lodge in Idaho are my favorite. Everything about them just make me so happy, from the venue to the dress to that gorgeous fishtail braid. And is her bouquet not AMAZING?? I love the eucalyptus + succulent combo. I have such a hard time not believing that the bridesmaids weren’t freezing! I know I would be for sure. Regardless, I just can’t get enough of these pictures. What a beautiful couple and the perfect way to tie the knot.

Nautical Nuptials

Photo courtesy of Troy Grover Photographers.
Oh my goodness, do I have a wedding photo shoot from Troy Grover Photographers to share with you!!! When I saw these pictures on Grey Likes Weddings I got so excited. I LOVE everything nautical and they did it right!!!!

The color scheme is so beautiful… gold, navy blue, white, and warm blush. I love the repetition of blue and white stripes paired with solids. I imagine these invites & paper designs were so much fun to come up with. I have always loved playing around with nautical design themes and these make me want to do more. There are so many fun possibilities when it comes to sand and sea.

And aren’t those floral arrangements just gorgeous?? Bloom Box Designs did an incredible job of putting the bouquets together as well as the amazing table setup that you see below. I REALLY want to be a guest at this wedding! (And I want a bouquet like this for my kitchen table. :)

The bride is so beautiful in her Enzoani dress with a belt from H&M. The Hair by Merr team dressed her up with glamorous make-up and this chic hairstyle. And those earrings are to die for. Not to mention the groom’s apparel is absolutely the perfect match – isn’t his bow tie fantastic?

Okay, okay. I just love all of it. The anchors, sailboats, lighthouses, twine and the sandy beach – everything about this shoot is just to die for. Every so often I come across a wedding theme that makes me jump up and down inside like a little girl all over again, and this is one of them.

Winter Weddings

Seeing as we’re smack-dab in the middle of December, I thought it was about time for a winter wedding blog post! Here in Southern California, we don’t get any snow, but the rest of the country is blanketed in a white wonderland as of late. When everything is ice cold, what could be more fun than planning something cozy? (And who says you need snow to have a winter wedding, anyway?)

I’ve assembled a hodgepodge of winter wedding goodness for you to ooh and ahh over. Better put on some warm socks, get yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows, and cozy up next to the computer.

There are a lot of beautiful things that you can do to make a wintry wedding beautiful. Snow and ice can be dressed up and highlighted by brilliant whites, silver, and light blues. Or you can take your color palette from the holiday season and huddle in the cold with your honey in your gown and tux, covered in a dramatic red coat or shawl. Not to mention the cold is an excellent excuse for blazing fireplaces, boots, and chic fur.

Snow globes, sugar sculptures, pine, eucalyptus, or holly. Candles and lanterns, snowflake shapes, gingerbread with cream cheese frosting, and steaming cider and coffee. Ice skates and sleds; snowmen and pine cones. Or you could go all out and rent a horse and carriage and hold the reception in a ballroom filled with glittering Christmas trees and walls hung with tinsel. There are dozens of ways that a winter bride and her wedding planner can make her special day truly one of a kind.
